Dr. Cynthia Zierhut Ursu is a licensed clinical psychologist and a leader in early autism intervention, specializing in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). As the Founder and Director of Early Days Autism Center, she has dedicated her career to developing and implementing group-based ESDM programs for infants and young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Her expertise spans parent coaching, play-based therapy, preschool intervention, and professional training—having trained clinicians worldwide in ESDM principles.

With a Ph.D. from UCLA, Dr. Zierhut Ursu has an extensive background in clinical research and psychological assessment, particularly in diagnosing and supporting children with ASD from infancy to early childhood. As a former psychologist and project manager at the UC Davis MIND Institute, she played a pivotal role in evaluating the efficacy of ESDM and managing large-scale clinical trials. She also served as the Clinical Manager at La Trobe University’s Margot Prior Wing, leading one of the first international preschool programs implementing ESDM.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Zierhut Ursu is a passionate advocate for inclusive education and early intervention, having served on multiple boards and founded initiatives supporting children with special needs. She continues to drive innovation in developmental science, early education, and autism intervention, ensuring that children and families receive high-quality, evidence-based support.
